Lee Hales, BSc, CMD, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1991. He completed his Radiation Therapy training at the Hamilton Regional Cancer Centre in 1993 and worked as a Radiation Therapist there until 1998 when he joined the Treatment Planning group. He earned his CMD credential from the MDCB in 2000. Lee immigrated to the US in 2001 and worked as a Medical Dosimetrist at the Mountain States Tumor Institute in Boise and Nampa, ID. In 2003, he moved to Buffalo, NY to work as a Medical Dosimetrist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and moved into the position of Chief Medical Dosimetrist in 2007. He also served as the Educational Coordinator for the Roswell Park School of Medical Dosimetrist until its closure in 2016. Lee has served on many committees and positions with the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists, most recently completing the 3-year Presidential cycle in 2020. He currently serves as a member of the Radiation Oncology Healthcare Advisory Council (RO-HAC).
